Nightingale is, even in the depths of her dark core, as brilliant as a burning star. Her heart is full of emotions– full of life– even if that includes both the good and bad. Though most people do not get to see either, she hides both her darkness and light from the outside world. This has to do a lot with her own self-image, fearing that people will immediately be afraid or disgusted by the depths of her person. Even with the fact that she is supposed to be a weapon ingrained into her soul, Nightingale is more afraid of others than she lets on. Her very being requires the trust of another soul, for she has to latch onto a “Vessel”— or “Keeper” as she calls it— in order to function correctly when outside her home. But after being burned one too many times by past attempted Keepers, Nightingale has developed the habit of jumping from Keeper to Keeper on the same world in her paranoia. Deep in her heart, however, she wants to help and protect her Keepers, to help others. Her heart is radiant with compassion, clashing harshly with her desire to stay impassive. Her Keepers are almost always people she wants to help, and she is hyper aware of if a person can physically withstand her energy.

She is deathly protective of both those she loves and her own Keepers, almost to the point of being a hazard to herself. Her carelessness to her own being comes out crystal clear, as she lends herself as a weapon to serve them. It seems despite cutting ties completely with her birthplace and creators, the desire to fight for others still burns strong.

While she appears to be brutal and rough around the edges at times, Nightingale is certainly more childish than she lets on as well, her taste falling into cuteness, warm colors, and frills as well as being stubborn and snappy– even with those she is close to. Even her love for sweets comes off as child-like. The same goes with her fiery attitude, quick to be aggressive and clash if she feels you are wrong.

Despite her seemingly cute nature and appearance, Nightingale is quite unstable. Her self-image and mood swings cause her to be highly self-destructive, her arms and thighs clearly showing this. She tries to bury her self-hatred, anxiety, and depression with her hobbies, ranging from artistic works to baking, but also with dangerous forms such as alarming amounts of caffeine and self harm. Her mood swings harm both her and others, often causing her “siblings” to stress over her. But she hates relying on others, often causing her to lock herself away while she suffers a bout. A vicious cycle… Her extreme nature may come out as unstable, but there's another side where she burns so brightly with passion. She does everything with her whole heart, be it her works, the way she bakes, when she plays her electric guitar, even in the way she dresses. Nothing she does is done half-heartedly, every gift and action is done with passion and heart.

Nightingale loves the World with her whole heart, she believes that there is beauty in everything and everyone… well, everything but herself. Her work reflects her view, with even her small butterfly projects mirroring her love for life even after it has expired. She doesn't let the hatred for herself stop her from complimenting others and letting them know how much they shine.

At the very end of things, Nightingale is a person of passion and emotion; her core burns in many ways, both in extremes. Her heart longs for connection and love, one has to wonder if she will ever be able to overcome her fears of being fully known, to allow herself to be perceived and accepted.

One day, she just might.
